Injectable Filler Candidates
Injectable fillers are most often used in patients from the late twenties upward to improve the earliest signs of aging, especially in depressions around the mouth and under the eyes. They can be used to supply volume to enhance thin lips, or occasionally to create a more chiseled jawline or more prominent chin or cheekbones.
Your Procedure Location
All of our injectable filler procedures are safely performed in Profiles state of the art office environment.
Anesthesia
Dr. Litner and Dr. Solieman commonly use topical and local anesthesia to optimize your comfort during the injection process. While most patients agree that this is an essentially pain-free procedure, we are exquisitely sensitive to making your experience at PROFILES as comfortable as possible.
The Filler Injection
Once the anesthesia is administered, the filler is carefully injected beneath the skin using a very fine needle. We take the time to analyze exactly where the filler is needed and you have the opportunity to observe and contribute to this process to achieve an optimal and natural enhancement. The process usually can be completed in under thirty minutes and we often can accommodate you over your lunch hour
Wrinkle Treatments
Injectable Fillers
Non surgical, minimally invasive modalities for facial rejuvenation have become all the rage over the last few years. These have become immensely popular because they are safe, provide immediate and predictable results, without all the down time surgery can often entail.
You may, however, feel more than a little confused about the array of wrinkle treatments available. We are often asked Should I be getting Botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, a chemical peel, IPL, radiofrequency, or what about this new cream that has just come out? The options seem never ending.
At PROFILES, we are big believers in time-tested treatments that carry unquestionable records of satisfaction, That’s why we won’t offer or recommend therapies that don’t make sense to us, no matter how great the hype.
Many of the above treatments are excellent and hold a particular place in the anti-aging repertoire. Botox is wonderful for dynamic lines and wrinkles, ones that are formed or made worse by repeated muscle movement, such as frowning. ‘Resurfacing’ procedures such as peels and dermabrasion work really well for textural changes over large areas of skin, such as for smoking lines. But, if you are concerned about a deeper crease or fold that has become more apparent with advancing age, such as around the mouth (Nasolabial Folds), then injectable fillers are likely the best option for you. These fillers are meant to replace lost volume in order to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin by improving facial contours and smoothening lines and depressions. They can also be used to augment volume in an area where it may have always been deficient, such as for Lip Enhancement.
Non-permanent fillers, such as Restylane™ and Juvéderm™, are composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that, along with collagen, is one of the main building blocks of the skin. These can provide you with immediate results that can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months depending on your body, and the volume and area injected. Maintenance of favorable results can be achieved with regular treatments.
Many patients would like to achieve even longer lasting improvements and this can be done with newer semi-permanent fillers such as Radiesse and Artefill. These fillers can achieve remarkable enhancements in the right location. While they cannot replicate the results attainable with a surgical procedure for more advanced aging changes, they are often a good choice if you do not have the time to consider surgery. Occasionally, some of our patients even like to try these procedures first before they make the decision to undergo a surgical procedure. You should know that these procedures are not mutually exclusive. Patients may often undergo a filler procedure in concert with a surgical lift to enhance the overall look.
Best of all, these procedures can be delivered quickly, safely, economically, and effectively in the office with minimal discomfort, downtime, or unwanted effects.
After Radiesse and Restylane Injections
There is little downtime associated with most injectable filler procedures. Some mild swelling or redness may occur at the injection site. Patients may also experience some mild discomfort, tenderness, or irritation at the injection site which tends to fade quickly. Work and other normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment, though exercise and alcohol should be avoided for several hours after injection.
Results after filler injection are immediate. Once the mild swelling resolves, the enhancements will usually remain stable over the life of the filler. You will begin to notice after a period of time that the unwanted creases or depressions are once again more noticeable. This is the time you may wish to consider a repeat visit in order to maintain your satisfying results.
